YWHAG FOUNDATION RESEARCH GRANTS

The YWHAG Foundation is committed to accelerating scientific discovery and advancing meaningful treatments for individuals affected by YWHAG-related epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders.

While we are a small, parent-driven foundation, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors, whose support allows us to fund targeted, high-impact research initiatives that move the field forward. Through our grant program, we aim to empower researchers to pursue promising ideas, foster collaboration across disciplines, and generate insights that can translate into real-world benefit for patients and families.

OUR APPROACH

YWHAG Foundation research grants are designed to support early-stage, innovative projects that expand understanding of YWHAG biology, improve disease modeling, and lay the groundwork for therapeutic development. We prioritize research that generates critical foundational data and positions projects for future funding from larger governmental or industry sources.

Applications are evaluated through a rigorous scientific review process. Final funding decisions balance scientific excellence with relevance to the most urgent needs of the YWHAG patient community.

RESEARCH FOCUS AREAS

The Foundation welcomes innovative proposals across the spectrum of basic, translational, and clinical research related to YWHAG. Priority will be given to projects that advance understanding of disease mechanisms and accelerate the path toward effective treatments. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Therapeutic discovery & translation — drug repurposing, pathway modulation, gene-based or other innovative treatment strategies

OUR COMMITMENT

As a parent-driven foundation, we are deeply invested in ensuring that funded research is thoughtful, collaborative, and aligned with patient needs. We value transparency, scientific rigor, and open communication, and we view our grantees as partners in a shared mission.

Funded investigators are expected to provide periodic progress updates and may be invited to share findings with the YWHAG research community.
