HOW FUNDS ARE USED?
Currently, there is no cure for the YWHAG genetic mutation. There are multiple projects that our Foundation is currently pursuing with your collective contributions and donations-- as our ultimate goal is to find a cure for the YWHAG genetic mutation.

The goal is of ASO development is to specifically target the YWHAG gene. ASOs are designed to bind precisely with RNA, modifying the process of creating a disease-causing protein. ASOs are short strands of modified DNA that can specifically target the transcripts of a defective gene to modify the product of that gene.

There is hope that an already approved FDA drug can better target the root cause of YWHAG genetic mutation and increase expression of the gene to allow for more correct protein pairs to form.

Research
The role of the gene and its impact in the body overall is very complex and there needs to be additional research done in hopes of advancing breakthrough discoveries and treatment progress. Gene therapy, CRISPR gene editing are all targets.
